Show A Word About "Kickers." Cedar City, Oct., 24, 1911. Editor Record. Dear Sir:- As there is considerable con-siderable said about kickers 1 would like to know what constitutes con-stitutes a kicker? Is it a person who is trying to improve conditions con-ditions in life or business, or are they the kickers who want to continue in the same old humdrum hum-drum routine, and object to any one, advancing a new idea for. imarovament in qlifrtel. politicly any new idea is pronounced a kicker. Well then, I say, good luck to the kickers, for through kickers in the past very many improvements have been made through a little kicking. The admonition is often given "don't find fault" I suppose that means let matters of all kinds go smoothly smooth-ly along in the same old way. Where would we be today if such kickers as Martin Luther, John Knox, John Wesley and other reformers (kick6rs) had not stood out valiantly for reforms. re-forms. Many reformers (kickers) have sacrificed their lives for kicking. If our revolutionary fathers had not kicked we would still be payjng tribute to Great Britain without representation in the British Parliament. Oliver Cromwell kicked and it proved of lasting benefit to the people of Great Britain. Some few individuals seem to have the idea that they are endowed en-dowed with sufficient wisdom to direct and control the business and ideas of a community and not a word should be said against whatever they desire to dictate. If a person has a mind of his own and not a pusillanimous sycophant, and expresses his ideas on any matter that is not in harmony with the views of said individuals he is a kicker. Every one has a right to his or her opinion, and ought to have liberty to express it if he or she desires to do so. We have need of more kickers to bring about reforms and improvements im-provements in many ways, and we ought to feel and wish that any one who can give us more happiness and comfort in life should be honored for doing so and not blamed for his efforts in trying to improve conditions in life.
