On the morning of Saturday, May 5, comwho helped organize the “Spring munity members braved the cold weather and even a few snow flakes to show their support for the third annual “Spring Fever” Fun Run. Some ran the 5K course, while others walked or pushed children bundled up and riding in strollers. The Eden Wolf Creek Ward hosted the event with all proceeds going directly to The Abbey of the Holy Trinity Trappist Monastery Fever” Fun Run would like to thank community members who braved the cold and came out to make this event a success, and also the following business owners who generously donated great prizes for the event. Participating businesses included Alpine Pizza, Diamond Peak, The Oaks, Snowbasin Ski Resort, Rainbow Gardens, and Wolf Creek. Weber Pathways to Host Ninth Annual National Trails Day W e b e r Pathways is hosting its ninth annual National Trails Day on Saturday, June 2 at Fort Buenaventura Park. This year we are spotlighting Fort Buenaventura and a new wetland trail funded by RAMP, which is located southwest of the Fort. The area is rich in history as well as wildlife habitat and trails. Our co-hosts for this year’s event are the Weber-Morgan Health Department and the Ogden Trails Network. The National Trails Day event, including entrance to the Fort, is free to the public. Activities for the day include: • 7:30 a.m.—bird walk with the Audubon Society • 7:30 a.m.—10K Volks Walk ($3 fee for “official” Volks Club walkers) • 8:15 a.m.—Gold Medal Mile walk • 9:00 a.m.—the trail-opening ceremony and award of prizes to the 4th and 5th grade students from Bonneville, Gramercy, and Lincoln elementary schools for the best National Trails Day posters. • 9:15 a.m.—raffle (everyone who attends will be entered) for cool prizes. • 9:45 a.m.—“Beat the Mayor” 5K Fun Run (your chance to “beat” Ogden’s Mayor Matthew Godfrey as he competes against the entire field!)
