Show Good Troupe, Good Play, Good House The Walters Co., which played play-ed at the Delta Opera house Monday Mon-day and Tuesday nights drew big crowds each night. The company is carrying a strong troupe of players and the plays rendered were interesting and and each part well carried cut. Tuesday night they played Corianton, a very heavy play taken from the Book of Mormon and written by 0. U. Bean t' Richfield, Ut. The players handled hand-led the various parts very cred- itably and played to the largest crowd ever assembled- before a -traveling troupe in Delta with one exception, the Dixie minstrels min-strels last year. The play Monday night was "Sowing The Yind." The Walters -Co. 'returns here next Saturday night and will stage the play "The Country Girl." The occasion will be made a benefit' for the Delta Band and will be given under the- auspices of the Delta Commercial Com-mercial Club. "The Country Girl" is said to be one of the popular comedy-dramas of the day and with the present strong company Mr. Walters is carrying should be well played, and considering con-sidering the occasion, should be more than well patronized. The Delta. Commercial Club is doing a good work in taking on the obligations of paying off the debt on the band instruments, and is also working with the end in view of accomplishing a great deal more good in other ways. Its handicap is the lack of money vvith which to meet obligations and the lack of interest shown. If every one would come out and work in an unselfish way for the best good and general welfare of the country, we'd soon be on our way toward that promised goal "the biggest city "between Salt Lake and Los Angles." |
