Show Last Thursday night Mr. Oswald a traveling ventriloquist and violinist, entertained the audience at the Princess Theater. His act was very commendable as were the pictures. Monday night the pictures were fine, particularly par-ticularly the one-reel feature of Hazards of Helen, and 3-reel feature entitled, Love, Snow and Ice, was par excellent. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bennett, Jr., and sisters Rachel and Artemisia, Arte-misia, who have been here visiting visit-ing their sister, Mrs. A. C. Sorenson, have returned home. Mr. Bennett's father, Sam'l Bennett, Ben-nett, Sr., is expected over from Holden in a short time for a visit and to look around with the idea of coming here to reside. The court of Millard county has moved to Delta today and is, in session on the case of Attorney Attor-ney Norton, of Salt Lake, vs. the settlers under the old Oasis Irrigation project. The case is brot by Norton for the collection collec-tion of fees he claims as an employee em-ployee of Mclnich who acted as atorney for the settlers and' col lected his fees but failed to satisfy sat-isfy Norton as to his fee. Bishop Maxfield was up at the Sevier Bridge dam the first of the week and on his return stated stat-ed that he was getting more letters let-ters relative to the commencement commence-ment of work there than he could reply to. He says that work will not begin for ten days yet as the ice and frost will not permit. The work is well aheaa of the water which is coming into in-to the dam and Mr. Maxfield says that if the w-eather continues con-tinues good and construction work can be gotten under waj by the first of March, it can be kept well ahead of the spring raise unless unusual weathei conditions prevail. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Briggs have been blessed with a baby boy which arrived last Monday. Joseph Hinsey of Holliday, Utah, is here looking over the country with a view of locating. Chas. McClain returned last Monday from a trip to Salt Lake City. S. W. Eccles has been in Salt Lake and Ogden the past week attending to business matters. Mrs. A. H. Aller is visiting a a few days this week in Salt Lake. Piatt Taylor and wife have gone up to the dam where he will work doring the spring. .1. Mc-Pherson, Mc-Pherson, was in Salt Lake the last of last week attending to business matters of the company. Mrs. Dr. Tracy reports the arrival ar-rival of a fine boy at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. K. Adamson of Sugarville. The Sunday School classes of August Miller and Mrs. Lamson indulged in a party at the home of Mrs. Chas. Clark. Mrs. Zina Gray and daughter, Mrs. Jennie Cook left hit Sunday Sun-day for Beaver where they will visit with relatives and friends. C. L. Stewart returned Tuesday Tues-day morning fi-om Silt Lake where he ha- been the past week visiting his mother and son. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Jones are the proud possessors of a brand new baby girl which arrived last Monday at Salt Lake. "Watch Delta grow." County Commissioner Maxfield Max-field informs us that preparations are being made to resume the construction work on this end of the Delta-Fillmore road. W. H. Austin and family have arrived in Delta from Dubbs, Miss., and are keeping house in the basement under the Delta State Bank. B Ward has taken the agency for the International Harvester Co. implements and is getting in a supply for the spring trade. He will have them at his livery barn. F. I.. Gopenirig and family, who have been under quarantine quaran-tine at Provo, on account of their little daughter, Nina, having a light attack of scarlet fever, are again at liberty. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Larson and J. H. Peterson and wife left Wednesday morning for the Sevier Se-vier Bridge dam where tne ladies Will have charge of the boarding house and the gentlemen will work on the dam. Grant and Quincey Maxfield and Lester Coon and Albert Allen Al-len from Lyman, Wayne Co., arrived here Sunday and will shortly go up to the dam where they will help with the construction construc-tion work winch will soon begin there. The Salt Lake Tribune of last Monday announces that another big flowing well has been brot in at Fillmore. This well is located lo-cated on the Albert Robison ranch and has a flow of eight hundred gallons of water per minute. Mrs. Frank Beckwith, wife of the cashier of the Delta State Bank, came down from Salt Lake lust Friday, where Mi 5. Beckwith and children are staying stay-ing during the school year, and visisted Mr. Beckwith over Sunday. |
