Show INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO VOTE With the coming election and owing ow-ing to the fact that many will cast heir first vote, the News is reproducing repro-ducing the law governing such mat-:ers mat-:ers as follows: "Any voter desiring to vote for all he candidates upon any ticket may nark in the circle above the ticket. 3Y in the squares opposite the names of all candidates thereon, or both -such markings. If the voter does Mot desire to vote for a candidate on a, ticket the circle of which he has marked, he may draw a line through ho name of such candidate, and the ?ross in the circle shall count a vote for all the other candidates on the ticket. To vote for candidates on two or more tickets, he may mark in the squares opposite the names of such candidates without marking in any circle; or he may indicate his choice by marking in tho circle above one ticket, drawing a line through I he names of such candidates on that ticket for whom ho does not desire to vole, and marking in the square: opposite the names of the candidate: of his choice upon other tickets. The voter may also insert in writing in l he proper place in the blank ticket the name of any person for whom he desires to vote and he shall be deem ed to have voted for that person I whether he makes or fails to make a cross mark opposite such name. The unnecessary marking of a cross in a square on the ticket below the marked mark-ed circle, shall not affect the validity of the vote." |
