Show Grade Schools Reopen at Centerfield; Missionaries to Be Given "Farewell" The higher grades of the public schools have completed a two-weeks' vacation, that the students and teachers might aid in the beet harvest har-vest which has proven a great benefit ' ;o the farmers, who now lament the j tudents returning to school, as many jf the fields are yet untouched and j ivinter approaching. j The sugar factory is running nice-! ly and increasing in the output of the best of sugar. The company is now prepared to supply the farmers with pulp. Tuttle Bros, took the first load. Burwcll Westover of Gunnison met with a painful accident Saturday of last week while dumping a load of beets at the factory. His 4-horse 'earn, started, pinioned his knee be-.ween be-.ween the beet rack and the hopper, bringing the team to a halt. The ,eg was badly smashed and it will e some time before he will be able ;o use it much. The day before the AA'estover accident, acci-dent, John Hansen was unloading ieets from a car on the . railroad ;rack and had the misfortune to get me of his fingers caught in a crank ,vhich took the end of one finger off and badly lacerated another. Hansen was not incapacitated from work and is at other duties about the factory. Mrs. Harriet Highatn was tendered tender-ed a pleasant party at her home last Friday by the members of the Relief Society. The occasion was the 76th anniversary of Mrs. Higham and some thirty guests were present and had a most pleasant time. Mrs. Higham Hig-ham was the former president of the Relief society over twenty years ago, and very deserving of the remembrances remem-brances received. A government inspector of livestock live-stock was here the first of the week testing all cattle for tuberculosis. All animals in Centerfield were put under un-der the test. A farewell party will be held at the meeting house November 5, for Mr. and Mrs. Leo Beck, who expect to leave on a mission to the Southern South-ern states.
