Carloads of people are coming Into the state from Los Angeles and points in southern south-ern California, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Ne-braska, Iowa and other middle western states, and are buying these tracts of land all the way from forty to 160 ItfftdtOStcLlo . iVW4.$ff In every case they are well satisfied with their purchases, and Delta, the principal town in the tract, will undoubtedly un-doubtedly be a town of from 1,200 to 1,500 Inhabitants by next spring. The land is mostly located south of Lynn-di, Lynn-di, and takes up the Pahvant valley, the largest valley being brought under cultivation In this state. It contains three hundred square tulles of agricultural agri-cultural ground. In an Interview with some of the farmers in that section Mr. Clove stated that they said they were raising rais-ing better crtips the first year than they had raised after years of cultivation cultiva-tion In the states from which they came. While the Utah people generally are not purchasing this valuable land at the government rates of $5 per acre each after 1913 until J50 Is paid, many Utah county farmers are buying forty and sixty-acre tracts. These farmers are trying to get the Salt Lake Route to put In a train service between Salt Lake and Milford via Provo In order to facilitate travel back and forth. When Mayor W. H. Ray was returning from delivering an address ad-dress to the residents of Delta early In the week, he returned to Lynndyl with other Provo people, and none of them could secure accommodations, so were forced to spend the night In a box car station, as there are only twelve beds available for transients at the hotel at Lynndyl. |
