Show FEEDING SHEEP IN A RACK Bottom Should Be High Enough From Ground to Allow Animals to Pick Up Loose Fodder. Sheep should always be fed In rack or trough. A good rack may be made nf any size or length desired, but the bottom should be high enough from the ground to allow the sheep to pick up any loose fodder or grain that Is scattered about. If the trough Is placed on the ground, animals will run over It and foul the feed. It should be very strongly constructed of boards not less tlaan one Inch thick Rack for Feeding Sheep. and the top piece, running lengthwise, should be r' least four Indies wide to give the trough rigidity. In -naklng thin, or any other feed-device, screws should always be used In preference to nails, as they will hold the piece together more firmly and do not work j loose, as nulls do. j |
