Show home of truth news uy by marie maric da M ogden director another busy week in all ways and directions for everyone of us who live in the valley as well as for elmer and his assistant in town tow who published the weekly journal last week without the assistance editor except for si stance of our the material he sent in f for or his ave prepare this column of ne new e we are making ready to go 90 to salt lake city to care for business matters there and en route we travel toward the north as and so an another other week will pass all too quickly of past days we may say that thru the efforts of our men who completed the cabin at the seven mile farm and cleared away all sign of building and debris and th the e three days of work making leady the interior as nellie reid assisted by mary cameron who offered her for this tremendous task of ho housecleaning house cleaning the interior and esteri exterior or are in apple pie order for the moving in this week in addition more work has hag been done on the f farm arm in preparation for the planting to get underway st this week the weather tha I 1 ions are so frivolous and temperatures empera tures so variable that its is almost impossible to count on much progress in this line until more settled conditions prevail then too we were waiting for the promised horses altho our closest neighbors the ross pur cells loaned us a team to begin operations and now we have our own pair for their tryout all other arrangements are made for their permanent keep we have also acquired another cow for pasture and our chicken incubator is completed and ready for the eggs which are being accumulated now so do we report progress in another way we also have another member who chanced to come our way during the week and who will no doubt remain for an indefinite period of him we ve will speak again when we have had opportunity to discuss future plans and know more definitely where he will best fit in since each new comer musi must have a few days to get accustomed to our way of living as well our visitors during the week included mr an and mrs larsen from whom we purchased edour our seven mile farm last year and who are visiting in the neighborhood that is combining a business and pleasure trip to this part of the country during the busy sheep shearing season of the year when mr larson is in demand for such services mr C A snyder and mr wagner of paradox came on sunday to spend the day and to bring us a rare gift of seeds for planting in our various plots reserved for this purpose we have long since known mr snyder but this is his first visit to our three mile area and our first meeting in person our previous contact having been ajr ough correspondence there igsa lit it was a real pleasure to wel ae one with whom we have had contact over a period of several years dr I 1 M cohn of blanding was an overnight guest on sunday and will accompany us on the journey to salt lake and return combining pleasure and business as is his custom to do on occasion when he visits in the capital city of this state mr and mrs wilkinson and their daughter and grandchild arrived late on sunday afternoon from their visit north and stopped at each home in the valley to offer greetings we are glad to welcome them back and are grateful for their safe journey with a trailer full of household goods which will make them more comfortable for table in monticello their daughter mrs gray and her little dychter 1 1 ahter 1 margie will remain for a 01 awis Is the first week in the new month come and gone and another one in progress on which we will comment next week when we will also write of our trip and accomplishments in another way |
