Show ABUNDANT WATER ASSURED Residents of St. George and Washington county look upon the recent storm with the same appreciation that greets the receiving of a valuable valu-able gift. It gives a certain insurance in-surance that the inconvenience of insufficient water may be only a unpleasant recollection next summer. Reports from the surrounding communities show an encouraging increase in the stored moisture over former years. This country is not alone in receiving benefits from;' the snow that laid a heavy blanket over the greater part of the state. Livestock men and farmers are largely relieved of drouth fears and the communities throughout the west that depend de-pend upon snow in the mountains mount-ains for water supply are encouraged en-couraged by the outlook. The state highway department, however, how-ever, experienced the other side of the picture. The facilities were taxed to keep traffic moving. mov-ing. The work of this bureau is deserving of praise. Fortunately, Fortun-ately, no serious disasters were attributed to the snow fall and by the persistent effort of road crews stalled cars and busses, were assisted on their waywith-undue waywith-undue suffering. After an unsually dry summer sum-mer and the depressing conditions condi-tions of later months, everyone is looking hopefully to the new year. The storm is a stimulus; to optimism. Abundant crops may be expected to result, contributing con-tributing to the improved conditions con-ditions that the west is due to enjoy. |
