Show YEAR'S SUFFERING ENDED EARLY THIS MORNING; WAS GRANDSON OF ERAS-TUS ERAS-TUS SNOW, FOUNDER OF THE DIXIE MISSION. Mahonri M. Snow, 60, died at 4:30 this morning of heart trouble and complications. He had been sick for a year or more, having suffered the first attack of the heart disease while working on the highway while in the employ of the state road commis-sion. For the past ten days his condition has been considered serious, and since Monday he had been bedfast. Mr. Snow was born August 2, 1871, a son of Mahonri M. and Cornelia Lytle Snow, early pioneers of Dixie. He was a grandson of Erastus Snow, the founder of the Dixie mission. Practically all his life has been spent here with the exception of two years when he attended the B. Y. U. at Provo. No-vember. On November 6, 1894, ho was carried to Miss Mary Pearce in the St. George temple. To them were born nine children, four of whom died in infancy, and a son who died when near manhood. All his life he has engaged in farming. For four years he was street supervisor in the employ of the city, and after that was employed by the state in maintenance work west of town. He was devoted to his religion and sent his only son, Marion, on a two-year mission. Surviving are his widow and four children, Marion Snow, Miss ' Dorothy, Mrs. Ruth Barnum and Mrs, Leah Frei, of Enterprise, all of whom were present when he passed away. Other survivors are two grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Granville Snow, Fielding; Mxs. ' Mamie Sanders, Ogden, and Mrs. Ada Schmutz, St. George; half-: half-: brothers and sisters: Bert Snow, Kenneth Snow, Mrs. Leda Hail, ! and Mrs. Genevieve Fawctt, i St. George; Elliot Snow, Panaca, and Stanley Snow, Los Angeles. Definite funeral arrangements will be made as soon as word is received from relatives, but services will be held either Friday Fri-day or Saturday. |
