Show Heath Reelected Head Of Idaho Republicans At Twin Falls Convention Gov. Bottolfsen Defends Administration; Blasts At "Obstructional Tactics" Thomas Heath of Preston was elected chairman of the Idaho State Republicans last week at Twin Falls by acclamation after nomination was unopposed. Mrs. Carlisle Smith of Caldwell was reelected re-elected state vice chairman. Named as presidential electors were Everett E. Hunt, Sandpolnl; L. M. Earl, Idaho Falls; Dr. Chas. Hanner, Lemhi county; and Wid-son Wid-son J. Lloyd, Nampa. Willis Sullivan Sulli-van of Boise was elected secretary secre-tary of the Btate central committee commit-tee and D. Sid Smith of Shoshone was named treasurer. The convention was keynoted by national and state speakers who pulled no punches in condemnation condemna-tion of the new deal. An exhaustive exhaus-tive platform which did not content con-tent itself with the problems of the future but which presented an accounting of the state, administration admin-istration for the past two years, was an innovation in the annals of the Republican party in this state. Heath in his acceptance talk flung a challenge to the Democratic Democrat-ic party. It was occasioned by remark! of newly-elected Democratic Democrat-ic State Chairman Robert Coulter that he was ready to "battlq with a pick ax against Heath's sledge hammer." Said Heath: "We want to have a different kind of a campaign a campaign based on question of vital importance impor-tance to our present form of government. gov-ernment. Wilkie, Senator Charles McNary, Senator John Thomas, Representor tlve Henry Dworshak and Edward Gaffney, Orofino, for first district representative. Charlos Halleck of Indiana, the man who nominated Wendell L. Wilkie, gave the keynote address ad-dress and urged the election of Mr. Wilkie to save the country from any threat of dictatorship that might spring from either foreign for-eign or domestic sources. Governor C. A. Bottolfen, forcefully force-fully defending his administration hit at the "obstructionist tactics" against his office by other elective officers of the state. Blasting at his opponent Governor Gover-nor Bottolfsen added: "Apparently Mr. (Chase A.)
