Competing in a contest to reduce fatalities, Idaho recorded 113 up to September 1, compared with 96 during the same period last year. Utah's total for the eight months was 106," a gain of 11 over last year's total of 95. Idaho counties having no fatalities fatali-ties are Boundary, Caribou, Custer,. Cus-ter,. Franklin, Gem, Jefferson, Jerome, Je-rome, Lemhi, Lincoln, Owyhee, Teton and Washington. Counties in Utah with no deaths are Kane, Morgan, Piute, Rich, San Juan, Daggett, Emery and Sevier. Se-vier. Canyon county leads in Idaho for traffic deaths, having 11 so far, compared with seven last year. Cassia county has had nine, Shoshone Sho-shone county eight, and Benewah and Twin Falls counties seven each. Of the state's total nineteen of thedeaths have been pedestrians. |
