Mrs. Letlie Burbank who ha-been ha-been employed in California for the past eight monlhs returned , home last Thursday to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martello Burbank. , L George and Fred Porter motored to Logan on a business call at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Porter. Por-ter. They also visited with Mrs. Francis Prees of Coveville last Monday. A party was held in honor of Miss Gladys Sharp last Monday evening. Eleven guests were pres-' pres-' ent. Many games were played aft er which a watermelon bust was ! enjoyed. Miss Nina Black of Ogden, Utah and Miss Sybil Hansen of Preston have accepted a position teaching school in this community for the next school term. They are making . their home for the winter at the home of Mrs. Louise Knapp. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dursteller and family attended the Dursteller reunion at Willow Flat last Sunday. Sun-day. v Cover Allen of Coveville made a short visit at the home of George Porter last Thursday. Miss Vilda Bennett has accept ed a call as a missionary. A party was given last Friday evening by a group of friends. Friday evening September 6, a farewell dance will be given in her honor. The public is invited. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Winn ana family and Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Stone of Preston visited with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Stone last Sunday. Ernest Spatig motored to Brig-ham Brig-ham City on business one day last week. Mrs. Karma Benson and daughter daugh-ter Renae visited with many old friends and associates in this community com-munity last Thursday. George S. Pond and Carl Stoddard Stod-dard of Lewiston visited with Fred Porter last week. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Porter were called to Faiview on account of the death of Mrs. Porter's mother, Mrs. Angus Gilbert. Bert Winn and Joseph H. Stone motored to Brigham City on business busi-ness last Sunday. James A. Chadwick of Whitney visited with Fred Porter one day last week. Mrs. Anona Larsen and girls visited with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Stone last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Ostergard and family of Salt Lake City visited vis-ited at the home of Mrs. Louise Knapp also with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Knapp and family. Mrs. Rufus Long and children and Mrs. Wendell Long and children chil-dren visited with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hobbs of Franklin last Saturday. |
