Mrs. Joseph Zwahlen, of Salt Lake City, and son, Kenneth,' visited her sister, Mrs. Henry Hansen, and family last week. Kenneth is re-cently returned from a mission in North Carolina, and was in the mission home at the same time as his cousin, Kimball Hansen. Gary Hardy, vvho Uw-Gene-spent the week end visit ing his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Win' aid Hardy, at Hinckley. The Breakfast Belles, MI Club met Thursday, June 21 at the home of Mrs. Alma Petersen. The meeting was called to or-der by Jackie Bassett. Patty Pet-ersen then gave the lesson on, "Fruit First for Breakfast". After the lesson the club prepared and sampled a variety of their fresh fruit dishes. Their next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Alma Petersen on Thursday, after noon at 2.30 p. m. Miss Ruby Turner, from Salt Lake City, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Turner over the week-end. SUTHERLAND . . . BY GLORIA WALKER Mrs. Leslie Porter visited in Og-de- n last week with relatives. A nephew, Ernest Hansen, returned with her for a visit. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs.' C. H. Hansen of Og-de- n came down to spend the day. Golden Erickson has been called for jury duty at Fillmore. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Porter are in Salt Lake City where Clair is tak-ing the State Board Exam for vet-erinarians. Mrs. Erma Roper visited in Suth-erland with her sister, Hazel Walk-er Monday. Her son, Clinton, re-mained here and will work for Fer rell on the farm during the haying season. Speakers for Sunday night meet-ing were Duane Erickson and Rich-ard May, both returned recently of Ogden stopped for a short visit! with Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Walker Friday. The Kartchner's and two children were enroute to Boulder Dam and vicinity on a sight-seein- g tour. Larry Jones o'C Cedar City visited at the Heber Rose home over the week end. Grant and Dale Bishop are hap-py over the arrival of a new dau-ghter Saturday in the Delia hos-pital. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Turner were honored at a wedding reception at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred turner. New Mr. and Mrs. Turner wil make their home in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Helen Gremli and daughter of New York and Miss Donabelle Christensen of Salt Lake City are at the home of their mother, Mrs. Madge Christensen, coming down for the wedding of their brother Scott. Also at the Christensen home for the wedding was Mr. and Mrs. Lon Christensen and son, Boyd, of Newcaslte. Mrs. Herald Petersen has a cou-sin Miss Jeanene Pratt of Orem visiting this week. Miss Zoe Porter who is attend-ing school in Salt Lake City visit-ed her parents and friends over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Fowles and family of Salt Lake City visited Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. El Fowles. from the mission field. Larry Jones of Cedar City sang a vocal solo. Arlene Abott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elnathan Abbott, is in Idaho visiting with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson were in Provo last week for a Sam pson family reunion. Mrs. Wanda Johansen journeyed to Ogden last week to join her par ents for a trip to Minnesota, where they will visit with Mrs. Johansen's sister. Mrs. Tanetta Sorenson is taking care of the Johansen child-ren during their mother's absence. Miss Pauline Lovell of Oak City spent several days last week at the Ferrell Walker home, while Venna Walker visited in Oak City with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rollins of Ames, Iowa, are visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Avon Barney for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Amon Johnson and daughter, Bonnie, went to Salt Lake City Thursday returning their mother, Mrs. Letitia Steadman to her home. ' Mrs. Cora Larsen, Mrs. Rae Pet-ersen, and Mrs. LaPriel Mortensen are taking a group of MIA girls to Salt Lake City Wednesday. Dur-ing the one day visit they will tour the Geneological Society of-fices, Liberty Park, the Temple grounds and other points of inter-est. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kartchner "Utah Flight" Mr. John H. Crafts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Crafts, of Hin-ckley and Mr. Carl E. Stoneking, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Stoneking of Abraham, enlisted in the US Air Force the 26th of this month. They were enlisted with Jeff Carter from Hinckley and oth-ers from Utah that made up the "Utah Flight". They were guests of the Salt Lake Bees at Derks Field where the Bees played Twin Falls after their enlisting cere-man- June 27 they departed for Lackland Air Force Base San An-tonio, Texas, where they will stay together for all the 8 week's bas-ic. Morgan Abbott, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Abbott, Clifton Jenson, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Jenson, and Leaur Shields, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Shields, all of Sugar-vill-left Sunday for Salt Lake City to enlist in the US Air Force. They were to take their physicals on Tuesday, and if' they passed, were to leave Wednesday morning on the "Utah Flight' for basic train ing at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas. The "Utah Flight" is com-prised of all Utah men, and they will train together for 8 weeks. UTAH Celebrate JULY 4 at PI Mrs. Melvin Moody, and two daughters, Lucille and Kathleen, from Baldwin Park, Cal., visited in Delta last week with her aunt, Mrs. Will Walker. They also visit-ed in Deseret. Oak City Mae H. Shipley Sunday services were attended by large crowd Sunday. The Sun-day school had a large enroll -- ment. Sunday evening services had a large audience to listen to El-der Ralph Barney report his mis-sionary experiences. Miss Barbara Anderson, daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy And-erson is home from her mission in Calif, where she has labored the past 18 months. She will report her mission July 8 at evening ser-vices. She spoke a few minutes at Sunday school last Sunday. Special Interest class was held Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. H. Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Chamberlain and daugh-ter, Carol furnished a very delight-ful musical program. About 25 were present. Refreshments were served. The wedding dance of Mr. and Mrs. Giles (Dorothy Nielson) was postponed Saturday evening due to the critical condition of Fred Nielson, brother of the bride. Fol-lowing an operation at Delta hos-pital, Mr. Nielson is now at a hos-pital at Salt Lake. He underwent another operation and is reported as slightly improved at this writ-ing. Visitors seen in Oak City were Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Howes and children from Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Sheriff 'from Riverton, re-latives of the Nielson 'family. Mrs. Leola Dalton and children are visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Roper. Mrs. Keith Harris from Provo is visiting in Oak City at the Harris home. Diane Harris has been visiting in Provo the past two weeks and returned home with them. Week end visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Phil Robison. Mrs. Don And-erson and daughter, Bernice, Mis-ses Maurine, Colleen Anderson and Afton Lovell. Also Verna Mae Drol-ling-and Genieve Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lovell en-joyed a trip through Yellowstone Park and also visited relatives in Idaho and Wyoming. Miss LaRue Lovell visited for several days at Sunset with Lois Lovell. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Matthews and children were week end visit-ors at the home of A. M. Roper. Fireside Chat was held at the home of Geniel Shipley Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Jones showed pictures of their missions and trips which were interesting. Refreshments were served. Abou 60 were present.
