Show I May Apply For Naval Academy Or Military Utah residents who desire to compete for an appointment to the United States Naval Academy o rthe United States Military Academy Ac-ademy may apply to Senator Arthur Ar-thur V. Watkins (R-Utah) any time prior to December 1, 1951, the Senator announced today. Senator Watkins said he would have one vacancy to fill at each academy for the 1952 class. "No political appointments will be made," Senator Watkins said. "Those who apply for appointments appoint-ments must compete in a Civil Service examination to be conducted conduct-ed in January. From the results of this examination, I will appoint ap-point one principal and three alternates al-ternates for each vacancy." Any Utah resident, including those now serving in the Armed Forces, should address his application appli-cation to Senator Watkins, 442 Sen ate Ofice Building, Washing, D. C. Applicants must be 17 years of age and must not have achieved their 22nd birthday by July 1, 1952. In making application, each candid ate should slate his age, residence, parents and their address, his schooling sch-ooling and include information as to his moral character, Senator Watkins said. Because physical requirements re-quirements are so high at the academies, ac-ademies, all applicants should determine det-ermine their physical fitness be fore going to the trouble of taking the examination, Senator Watkins said All applicants, whether in or out of the state at the time of appli cation, wil be subsequently notif ied o'f the time and place of the Civil Services examination in Jan uary |
