Show SCHOOL NOTES Tho schools, of Box Elder County will begin their Benson's work next Monday, Sept 8th. All schools of the county will begin nt tho same time. It is to bo hoped that till season'B work may continue through tho year without Interruption. Wo all hope we shall not have a reaccurenco of tho Influenza epidemic , which not alone upsets up-sets our social institutions but imperils our lives. The teachers of the Elementary Elemen-tary school of Garland have been assigned as follow: airs. Nina W. Stayner 1st grade. airs, aiinervn Peterson -2nd grade. aiiss Lydla Holmgren 3rd grade. airs, aiary Peterson 4th grade, aiiss Paulino Hubbard 5th grade. airs. Gula Cunningham Gth grade. The teachers of the Junior High School arc C. E. Smith, Earl Walker, Jessie Hadfickl, Lyman T. Thorpe, Robcoe TItensor. The 8th as well as tho 9th grade st.ulcnts of Tremonton Trem-onton school will come to Garland. Gar-land. The seventh and eight grades will pursue the regular course as outlined in the State Course of Study. 9th giado students will bo allowed to select sel-ect their course consisting of 4 or 414 credits from this list: English 1 credit Algebra 1 credit Biology 1 credit Oral Expression . . 1 credit Civics 1 credit aiuslc credit Sowing credit Penmanship ....... Vt credit Spelling VI credit With the ago of compulsory attendance Increased from 10 I to 18 years tho Junior High School, being the only school in this part of tho country doing work beyond the 8th grade, ought to be filled to capacity Ihis year. Students from surrounding sur-rounding towns will bo required by law to attend school nnd thopo who have completed the 8th grade can find no better pjnee thnn th'o Junior High school of our city. |
