Show Miners Are Waiting. Philadelphia. Mining operations were suspended April 1 throughout the hard coal districts of Pennsylvania Pennsyl-vania because the mine workers are celebrating the anniversary of the granting of the eight-hour workday in the soft coal regions. The anthracite anthra-cite coal strike commission's award which fixed the wages of the mine workers for the last six years expired March 31, but the miners will return to work under the old agreement pending the action to be taken by the conference to be held in this city. |
