Father Willis Mc-Mahon, Mc-Mahon, who filed a petition of bankruptcy bank-ruptcy in the federal court here Wednesday Wed-nesday as a result of his conection with the enterprises fathered by P. J. Kieran, president of the Fidelity Funding company, maintains that if Kieran had been successful in securing secur-ing all the money he needed to float his schemes everything would have come out all right. "I had great confidence in the ability abil-ity of Mr. Kieran," said. Father Mc-Mahon. Mc-Mahon. "But he did not get all of the money from the banks that he needed and failure was the result. I first suspected that Kieran's plans were not working out well when I heard that he was paying large bonuses bon-uses on loans. He often paid a bank a bonus of from 25 to 30 per cent of the face of the note upon which the loan was obtained. In one Instance he gave abanker a single bonus of $50,000. |
