Show Killed While Fleeing From Arrest. New York. A thrilling . flight from arrest in which a speed of between (50 and seventy miles an hour was attained, wound up in death for one automobile driver and serious Injury for another at Tarrytown on Sunday. Sun-day. The man who was killed was Charles A. Lindow, of Brooklyn, who was chauffeur for Dr. A. D. Mitten-dorf Mitten-dorf of this city. His companion was John Marquis, a professional racing mechanician, who rode with Louis Strang In the Briar Cliff and Savannah cup races, which they won. Their machine struck a tree, when, alarmed at knowing they were pursued pur-sued and likely to be arrested, they lost their heads. |
