Show By Nancy S. Twitchell Well, if you weren't praising it, you were most likely shoveling it.. .snow that is.. .the valuable treasure trea-sure you were all delighted with this week! But even with that delight, de-light, not too many dared venture out this past week. Two adventuresome souls were Anita and Erica Fletcher. Their help was needed by college draftees Stephanie, Robert and Michael Fletcher who all had BYU activities to attend. Seems Mom lent her hand to prepare one and all for the Sadie Hawkins Day Dance and the Preference Ball. Meanwhile, Alma Fletcher took Mom Mandy Fletcher to the town of Aurora to attend the wedding and reception of her granddaughter, Marie Christensen. Marie is the daughter of LaDonna and Vemon Christensen of Marysvale and is now the lovely bride of Robert Lund of Aurora. One couple who seemed to have their pulse on the changing weather this week was Lori and Carl Mun-ford Mun-ford of Cedar City. Just as the first good snows hit southern Utah they departed for the warmer temperatures tempera-tures of Hawaii. Seems Carl's employer em-ployer at Pioneer Floor Covering in Cedar City took his troops for a complimentary week in Hawaii. So Grandma Mae Twitchell took over the task of raising the four Munford youngsters this week, Tanya, A.J., Cami and Ross; while grandpa Vaughn will go ahead with his planned trip for a few days at the St. George LDS Temple. Jim and Erma Clark raced up to Orem this week before the storm took hold just to get a glimpse of their new granddaughter, Elizabeth Clark, born to Arthur and Nanette Clark. Brothers Christopher and Nathan sure were excited about the whole event Erma reports a very enjoyable and successful, traditional Thanksgiving Thanks-giving dinner was held by the Can-nonville Can-nonville LDS Ward last Wednesday, followed by an evening of visiting and games. The first successful Christmas shopping trip this season was reported re-ported by Verjean Clark and Paula Richards who took off Wednesday for the home; Donna Metcalf in West Valley. The "unsuccessful" part was having to come home Friday Fri-day in the height of the snow storm and trying to find new "secret" places to stash their loot. Two other storm travelers were Marva and Clele Fletcher who made their weekly trek down to the St George LDS Temple on Thursday and Friday, choosing to stay in Cedar City till the worst of the storm passed midday on Saturday. Arma Stock, daughter Iris Burr, her two daughters Pam Shakespear and Natalie Burr and young son Cory Burr all traveled to Phoenix, Ariz., for the naming and blessing of new great-grandchild Jordan Mikal Burr, bom to Dirk and Marcy Burr. This was their very first bundle bun-dle of joy! Was anybody missing Joe and Rae Hughes this week? I sure was, but I found 'em. Seems the Hughes joined up with Joe's brother and sister-in-law, Alfred and Nina Hughes from St. George, and they all headed to Davenport, Iowa for a visit with Alfred's son Rendon Hughes and have been gone a week. |
