Show Recreation Program It was announced today that the following activities will begin be-gin during the week of Oct. 11 to Oct. 16 in city recreation. Interested In-terested individuals should note the special registration time and starting dates. Additional activities such as Slow-break basketball for men and boys wrestling and basketball basket-ball will begin in the near future. fu-ture. Watch the paper for de-tais de-tais in these activities. Dancing Beginning Saturday, Oct. 16 dance instruction will be taught in the women's gym at the Jr. High. Specific dancing times will be assigned following registration. reg-istration. Those interested may register at city hall, 9 to 5, each day up to and including Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Oct. 13. Dancing is open op-en to children 4 years and up. Registration will be $5.00 for the 15 week course. Mrs. Adrian Payne of Orem, a senior at BYU, majoring in dance and recreation, will be the instructor. Baton Twirling Beginning Thursday, Oct. 14, Mrs. Susan Facer will teach baton twirling at the Jr. High Women's gym. The classes will be held at the following times: 4 to 5 p.m., ages 5 to 9 inclusive; inclus-ive; 5 to 6 p.m., ages 10 years and older. The course will run for 15 weeks with a $5.00 registration fee being asked. Girls will furnish fur-nish their own batons. Mrs. Facer is presently a senior sen-ior in dancing at BYU and has competed and placed nationally in baton competition. Register at city hall up to Oct. 13 or the evening of Oct. 14 at the Jr. High women's gym Shop Class Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 12, the Jr. High Shop will be open to the general public with all of the equipment, facilities and instruction being available. Robert Scholes, local industrial arts instructor, will again be in charge of this activity. The shop will be open until the week prior to Christmas. A 50 cent registration fee will be charged. This may be paid at the shop to Mr. Scholes. Interested persons should note the following times: 5 to 6 p.m., 6th through 8th grades, inclusive; 6 to 7 p.m., 9th grade through high school. 7 to 8 p.m., adults. Note: adults may attend during the earlier hours, however youngsters may not be allowed to attend during adult hour unless accompanied by a parent. Karate Class Karate instruction will be taught by Cline Campbell, holder hol-der of the Black Belt, each Monday, Wednesday and Friday Fri-day morning beginning Oct. 11. Classes will be held between the hours of 6 to 7 a.m. There is no age limit with classes being be-ing open to both male and female. fe-male. The course will run thru May, just prior to the end of school. A registration fee of $20 will be charged for the course and can be paid in installments. The official Karate uniform will be required and may be ordered order-ed through Mr. Campbell with a deposit (non-refundable) being be-ing paid at time order is placed. plac-ed.
