Show THE FIRST: CONGREGATIONAL church was crowded last night with friends of the' Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence T. Brown, who wjll leave early next week for San Diego, where the Rev. Dr. Brown has been called. Between Be-tween the hours of 8 and 11 fully four hundred people called, and the event proved a pleasant success. A purse ot $112 was presented to the guests of honor during the evening, the presentation presen-tation speech being made by the Hon. C. E. Allen. v . THE MISSES NOBLE were hostesses host-esses yesterday afternoon of a luncheon given at the Commercial club in honor of Mrs. Baldwin and Miss Glendinnlng. The other guests were: Mrs. Robert Glendinnlng. Mrs. William O'Brien, Mrs. David S. Murray, Mrs. Louise Smedley Smith, Mrs. R. HLiCbannlng, Mrs. Union Wortbington, Mrs. Mabel Miner McClure, Mrs. Arthur' H. S. Bird and the Misses Dooly and Burke. j LIEUT. HENRY A. PEARSON, U. S. N who was Utah's only Representative Representa-tive in the battle of Manila, is scheduled sched-uled to reach Salt Lake this "afternoon. Lieut. Pearson will visit hl3 relatives, who live in Draper, and also spend some time here. ' THE LAST ASSEMBLY BALL of the season was given last evening. It was a brilliant affair, members of local society being present three hundred strong. MRS. RALFH E. HOAG of Ogden will be in the city the first part of the coming week and will spend a few days visiting friends. MRS. DAVID 6. MURRAY will entertain en-tertain at a large luncheon In honor of Mrs. Theodore A. Baldwin, Jr., on Saturday, Sat-urday, May 2nd. JUDGE AND MRS. JAMES A. MINER MI-NER are home from their Eastern visit. MR. AND MRS. II. J. DININNY will hereafter be at home to their friends at 25 R street. MRS. H. S. ELDREDGE and Miss Mamie Eldredge have returned from Wisconsin, where they went to attend the marriage of Guy Eldredge. MRS. WILLIAM TERHUNE has returned re-turned from California and is at home at 1035 East First South street. DR. AND MRS. E. S. WRIGHT leave tomorrow to attend the dedication services ser-vices of the St. Louis exposition. MRS. H. G. McMillan is home from a lengthy visit with Mr. and Mrs. Luel- witz in Spokane. MR. AND MRS. WILLIAM COOPER COOP-ER left last night for Boston, and from there they will sail for Europe to spend the summer. DR. MACLEAN and Miss Aileen Maclean have returned from St. Louis. MISS CREARY will entertain at a coaching party tonight in. honor of Miss Dickson. |
