Show ELECTRICITY FORCANCER Treatment Attracts Attention Atten-tion ef Surgeons in Vienna. VIENNA, April 24. The news of the discovery of. new treatment for cancer can-cer by means of high frequency of electrical elec-trical currents has attracted the attention at-tention of the Viennese medical and surgical sur-gical profession, the members of which are always keenly alert for every new idea or fresh developments In the science sci-ence of healing. One of the most prominent clinical surgeons here does not consider this latest method as of the first-rate importance, im-portance, although he was very guarded guard-ed in his observations, owing to the lack of precise details as to the results already achieved. "My opinion," said this specialist, "Is that an ablation is the best way cf dealing with cancer in an operation. The object of the surgeon Is to remove as much as is advisable of the still healthy flesh surrounding the diseased growth, so as to extirpate any root which may have extended. '.To effect this essential detail of radical rad-ical and permanent cure the Roentgen rays have hitherto proved powerless1. Hence surgical intervention Is sooner or later indispensable. "In my opinion this new high frequency fre-quency treatment has nothing in it." |
