Thero l a. possibility that Honokus and Orangeburg will also enter the circuit. It Is contemplated to start the racing the second week in July, at Dongan Hills, Statcn Island, and have ten weeks of continuous con-tinuous trotting. Purses of 5400 will be offered, as well . as 2000 in stakes, for each meeting. The name will probably be the Atlantic circuit. A circuit of this kind would be quite successful, it is believed, for not only would the events reach towns where light harness racing Is popular, hut the transportation trans-portation -facilities would be unusually good, in that It would be necessary to ship horses but very little, owing to the nearness of tho iracku. This fact alono will. It is thought, be an attraction for owners with crack horses. |
