Show Students confirm community spirit In a town so very, very small, There's always someone when you fall, To send you on your way, And always make your day. This statement is no jest. We love Park City 'cause it's the best!! Kimmy Wartena j, Park City Middle School - r i'- , I i i I Coming into the small community of Park City five years ago, I realize just how important human relations are. A city's function is not only to provide services and keep merchants in business but to , devote human interests and caring. Nowhere will you find more human caring than in Park City. Just recently our town came together in an effort to save a young boy's life. Everyone in Park City in one way or another contributed to the cause. This caring not only made it possible for a young boy to get treatment but demonstrated the great community spirit of Park City. In my last year of high school and in the year of Park City High School's greatest growth, I realize just how lucky our small school is to have the facilities we enjoy. Our school being chosen as one of the "Top Forty" in the nation changes the views of many high school students in Park City. No longer, I believe, is the general objective ob-jective of the students just to graduate, but to graduate with the knowledge and with pride in our productive and caring community. communi-ty. Driving through the streets of Park City whether it be on the snowing snow-ing nights of winter, the windy afternoons of fall, the green, mild temperatures of spring or the relaxing days of warm summer, the feeling inside is always peaceful. This same feeling is expressed through the eyes of Park City dwellers young and old alike. The increasing in-creasing tourism is of course accounted for by the great skiing of the three resorts in Park City but also by the attitude of the wonderful wonder-ful people in Park City. Although Park City is growing rapidly, there is a concern in the community to keep it a town of the same values as were established when this city began in 1884. Those values are two very simple things: caring and concern. We celebrated only one year ago our one-hundredth year anniversary. The people of this town have been able to create not only a wonderful place to live but also a true All-American City. Park City is the ultimate place to live! In the winter, you can ski, snowboard, ice skate, go sledding, play racquetball, and a lot more! If you like to ski, you won't find a better place than Park City! It's home for the U.S. Ski Team! As summer comes along, you can play golf, swim, watch the professionals play golf at the P.G.A tournaments tour-naments at Jeremy Ranch, play tennis and even ride the mile-long Alpine Slide. Park City is a pretty small town although growing every minute. Everyone knows everyone else. The town works together! Brent, a little guy from Park City with cancer, was sent for an operation with the money Park City raised from fundraisers. People really care about other people here! The kids are not left out either. Our parents decided to raise their own taxes so we would have a better education. We got it too! Our schools provide special things such as classes for the mentally gifted, rocketry, botany, and in the school which goes up to eighth grade, they have an Algebra II and Trigonometry math class, not to mention the twenty computers in the middle school alone. We have , great schools! Park City is a great town, and I am glad I live here. If you have been here, you will never forget your visit!!
