The police also impounded about a dozen automobiles to permit snow removal. According to Park City Police Chief Frank Bell, no overnight parking park-ing is allowed on Main Street or in Swede Alley. All autos parked in those areas will be towed. Overnight parking is allowed in the parking lot across Main Street from the Treasure Mountain Inn and in the new lot at the bottom of Swede Alley on Heber Avenue, he said. Beyond traffic problems, police had a relatively quiet week, but are bracing for the usual ski-season crimes as the ski resorts prepare to open. On Nov. 8, William K. McFarland, 25, 1046 Norfolk Ave., was arrested and booked for investigation of filing a false police report. According to the police blotter, McFarland reported that a 1984 GMC Jimmy he had left unattended rolled over a retaining re-taining wall, breaking a handrail and a lamp post. The damage is listed at $400. Later, the car was reported stolen. Police contend the auto was not stolen and the report states it may have been reported stolen because the owner does not ha ve insurance. On Nov. 13, Bedford Franklin called call-ed police to report that his 1975 Jeep Wagoneer had been vandalized. According Ac-cording to the report, the auto's outside out-side mirrors and antenna were damaged. The damage is listed at $200. A clerk from the newly opened Corner Cor-ner Shoppe at Bonanza Drive and . Kearns Boulevard called police Nov. 7 to report the theft of gasoline. According Ac-cording to the police report, a person in a 1980 Mazda RX7 with Utah license VNT 257 pumped $15.58 worth of gasoline and did not pay for the fuel. , And on Nov. 6, Henry Lee reported the theft of ski equipment from his apartment at the Claimjumper Hotel. His report states that so- . meone entered his locked room and removed two pairs of PRE skis and one pair of Salomon SX91 Equipe ski boots. The missing goods are valued at $423. 5th Circuit Court Mike Giltner, 34, P.O. Box 2342, Park City, pleaded guilty in Judge Frank Noel's court to alcohol-related alcohol-related reckless driving Nov. 13. The charge was reduced from DUI. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined ; $299x Th?,il term, will be suspended upon payment of the fine. The fine was also reduced by $49. He was also fined $100 for the state's victim restitution fund. John Joseph Bretes, 34, P.O. Box 882, Park City, pleaded guilty Nov. 13 to a reduced charge of alcohol-related alcohol-related reckless driving. He was originally charged with DUI.
