part of our boom will be the working of the finestone quarries near this place four in number three of which are owned by the thistle rock company a company composed of well known business men of salt lake city these quarries consist of brown stone granite a salmon quarry about cue and a half miles borth from here on alie line of the I 1 G W railroad and one gray quarry near fork about twelve miles east from here also on the line of the D K G it is understood chrt the railroad company are building a spur to this quarry the fourth is a brown stone one about three from here andone mile up diamond creek this latter quarry is owned by mr james llamelo and one or two other railroad men well known in railway circles they form what ia known as alie salt lake aock company and are going to build a branch road or kneir quarry from the darga distance of about one and a half miles severd parties have been out here to inspect the rock in these quarries and all of them speak in high praise of alie quality of the rock for building purposes THISTLE is a small station on the denver and itice grande railroad it is about eight miles Spanish up fork canyon at the mouth of thistle creek and was only
