Salt Lake visitors this week svere Mr. and Mrs. Grant Finlinson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Anderson visited in Ephraim over the week ?nd . They attended the Snow Founder's Dav. several days with Mrs. Jacobson's other daughter, Eula. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Strong of Salt Lake City visited with Alice D. Anderson, Ileen Olson and Emm iiei;'.on. Speakers at the Sunday evening services were Viliard Stephenson, from the stake high council and Van uis'iep. Fireside Chat was held Sunday evening at the home of Margene Anderson. Returned missionary, Cal vin Dutson was the speaker. Reece Finlinson, Calvin, and Raymond Finlinson all missionaries from the Spanish-America- n mission sang some Spanish songs. Meredith An-derson sang a solo and Mayvon Dutson played the harmonica. Cal-vin played some Spanish phono-graph records while refreshments were served. Esdras Finlinson and son, Reece, nave gone to Rexburg, Idaho, for a few days visit with relatives. Kay Lyman of Springville visited relatives here last week. Colleen and Maurine Anderson, who are attending Dixie College, were home for the week end. Alice Jacobson and daughter, Aletha visited in Brigham City for 40 YEARS AGO ... From the Files . . J Oasis Mr. T. Clark Callister of Fillmore was in town last Saturday. He is surveying the new state road that is being graded from Fillmore to this point by Road Supervisor John R. Bennett. Hinckley, a member of the BYU faculty, was a visitor here Sunday. He was shown thru tlie academy, after which he mane the remark: "This is one of the finest academies In the church built for its purpose." Our mid-wint- course commenc-ed with many new students. SnliBHls Siflig Sacred Program A program of sacred music was sung by the Desert Sentinels on Sunday night in Mt. Pleasant. The concert was sponsored by the slake MIA there for conference, and more than eight hundred people formed the audience. Ladd R. Cropper directed the concert and also sang a solo. Another soloist was Mrs. Melba .Jacobsen. Dana Pratt was master of ceremonies, and Evan Gardner was a speaker. Dr. and Mrs. John L. Journay, from Tooele, were pheasant sea-son guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Nickle.
