Show 'MACCABEES HOLD 1924 ELECTION At a meeting of Springville Tent No. 9 of the Maccabees held in Fraternity Fra-ternity hall, Jan.' 12, the following officers were elected : Past commander, Lyman S. Hay-mond Hay-mond ; commander' Claude W. Larson Lar-son ; lieutenant commander, Willis Whitmore; chaplain, Miles Van Bos-kirk Bos-kirk ; Chauncey Van Patton ; master mas-ter at arms, R. E. Blackett; first master of guards, Earl Conover ; second sec-ond master of guards, George Bulk-ley; Bulk-ley; sentinel, Frank McKenzie, picket, pick-et, George E. 'Whitmore. The above officers were installed by State Commander T. H. Kelly. The selection of a record keeper for the Springville tent was deferred to a future date and the Springville Banking company will act as collector collect-or of insurance rates. Springville Tent No. 0 was organized organi-zed Feb., 11, 1S!7, with a charter membership of thirteen. Among its charter members were Dr. F. Dunn, A. O. Packard, Mont Johnson, W. B. Dougall. D. P. Brinton, T. R. Kelly, W. H. Kearns- G. W. Phillips and others. During the twenty-seven twenty-seven years of its existence more than $100,000 in insurance has been paid to families of deceased members. mem-bers. Starting on the old assessment plan of life insurance, the Maccabees Macca-bees has developed into a great legal le-gal reserve institution offering the highest types of Insurance policies and retaining all of the purely fraternal fra-ternal features which have characterized charac-terized it since its inception. Springville Tent No. 9 has the distinction dis-tinction of holding the prize banner for amateur bands in the state and for many years wns the undisputed leader in exemplifying the dramatic dra-matic work of the order. The present pres-ent plan of the Maccabees contemplates contem-plates a free trip to Washington, D. C. for members who do some work for the association. |
