Show APPOINTMENTS' IN SPRINGVILLE ANNOUNCED Henry Clark New City Marshal; Mar-shal; Salaries Are Reduced. In continuation of the first regular regu-lar session the new Spriugville city council re-assembled Monday evening, even-ing, .January 14, from the adjournment adjourn-ment of the week before and proceeded pro-ceeded to complete its unfinished business. After passing some minor resolutions resolu-tions that had to do with the clearing clear-ing up of laud titles they proceeded to discuss the salaries and make appointments ap-pointments to fill the various appointive ap-pointive offices iifr the city. Some of the salaries of the city employes were upon the recommendation recommend-ation of the various standing committees com-mittees reduced below what they have been during the last year. The city attorney's salary was reduced from $400 to $200 a year. The city marshal was reduced from $H5 to $110 per month. The nightwatchman was reduced from $104.00 to $100 per month. The appointments made together with the salary paid is as follows: Henry Clark appointed city marshal at a salary of $110 per month ; Lewis Cutler, nightwatchman at $100 per month; Norris Averett. superintendent of waterworks and plumbing" inspector at $1115 per month; II. R. Straw, city attorney at $200 per year; Win. M. Grooms, city electrician at $150 per month; Lee Davis, assistant city electrician at $120 per month; John Craudall and Len J. Taylor, operators at the electric light plant, each $120 per month ; W. W. Clyde, city engineer engi-neer at $1 per hour for actual time spent ; J. M. Clark, building inspector, in-spector, salary fixed by city ordinance ordi-nance ; George L. Barron, sealer of weights and measures, salary fixed by city ordinance ; W. W. Harrison, city clerk at $35 per month ; John JIanwaring, city sexton, at $8 per grave and the amount to be collected col-lected from the parties having the graves dug ; Ben Wheeler, road supervisor at $1 per day above the common wage scale ; Wayne Johnson, John-son, justice of the peace, at $125 per year.
