Show State WPA Recreation Director Commends Local Work Vertis C. Wood, state director of WPA recreation visited the projects pro-jects of Washington county with Vernon Worthen, county director, over last Thursday and Friday. At a meeting held in the Elementary school building at 1 p.m. Friday, Mr. Wood commended the local and county workers for their intensive in-tensive interest in their various projects. He stated further, that regardless regard-less of advantages elsewhere in the provision of recreation centers and facilities, there were no better bet-ter lineups throughout the state. He particularly commended the project in artcraft being conducted by Mrs. Minnie Harris, and the woodcraft work under LeRoy H. Holt, says Mr. Worthen.
