Show Temple Rose Garden Committee Appointed By Pres. Snow To facilitate the carrying out of the planned rose garden in the southwest corner of the Temple grounds, Pres. H. S. Snow has appointed ap-pointed a Temple Rose Garden committee. Mrs. Nina B. Fawcett is chairman, with Mrs. Nan M. Watson, Mrs. Belle W. Prince, Mrs. Mae M. McAllister, all of St. George;-Ernest Tobler, of Santa Clara, and W. O. Nisson of Washington, Wash-ington, associates and Mabel Jarvis, publicity member. A meeting was held at the Temple office Tuesday evening with President Snow attending. It was decided to ask Zion" Park, Kanab, Panguitch, Parowan, St. George and Moapa stakes all of this Temple division, to cooperate. Details of the rose garden will be published later. In the neighborhood neighbor-hood of 2000 roses of 38 varieties will be planted, using both climbers and bush types. Two major purposes are given for the establishment of this committee. com-mittee. One is, to lend assistance to the church gardner, Irving Nelson, Nel-son, in selection of roses known by local growers of experience, to do best in this locality. The other is a desire to create a community interest in beautification, that Dixie may eventually become in reality the much advertised "Utah's Rose Garden", which we of right should be", was the statement state-ment of President Snow. |
