Show Hurricane Miss Milda Isom Reporter Miss Myrta Wilson, an employee of Graff Mercantile Co., is spending spend-ing a week's vacation in Salt Lake City. The special North ward Book of Mormon class met at the home of Mrs. Martha Englestead on Sunday evening. Mrs. Englestead gave the lesson. About 25 were present. Light refreshments were served. Mrs. Velma Jolley and daughter of Springdale are visiting in Hurricane Hur-ricane with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Spendlove Sr. ' Mr. and Mrs. William E. Woodbury Wood-bury made a week-end business trip to Cedar City. Miss Carol Bradshaw has returned re-turned home from Las Vegas, where she has had employment since the close of school. Mrs. Lucile Gubler and Ruby Webb entertained their bridge club members at the Gubler home in La Verkin. Thirteen members were present. First prize was won by Miss Genieve Isom and second prize was won by Mrs. Jennie Ballard of Hurricane. The Hurricane Public Library has a new shipment of books in. Fay Reber, Hal Bradshay, Clell Covington and Marion Hinton spent a week a Pine Valley. The boys report that they enjoyed a very good time. Emerson Hall has been confined to his home for the past month with rheumatism. The North ward junior genealogical genealo-gical organization enjoyed a fine outdoor party at the Cannan ranch on Friday evening, July 29. About 20 members were present. Wayne Hinton was a special guest. A few more of the teachers have returned to their homes, after af-ter having spent some time attending at-tending summer school. Mac Lloyd Sullivan, who about 10 days ago received a leg injury in-jury while digging ditch, resulting in a case of blood poisioning, is now on the road to recovery even though he is still confined to his bed. The Alice Louise Reynolds club met on Friday, July 29, at the home of Mrs. John Williams. Hostesses Hos-tesses were Mrs. Martha Englestead, Engle-stead, La Verne Isom, Grace Staheli and Cenona Esplin. Three special guests were present. Miss Uarda Knight, Mrs. Vernon Campbell Camp-bell and Mrs. Vilo Pratt. A short program was rendered as follows: A piano selection by Mrs. Vernon Campbell; a story review by Mrs. Eleanor Ruesch. Light refreshments refresh-ments were served. Clinton Isom has returned from Fredonia, Ariz., where he has had pmnlovment in a saraee for the past month. The single girls played the town board fellows in baseball on Tuesday Tues-day afternoon. The girls emerged as the victors with the score of 19-11. Miss Maurine Cottle, of Fish Haven, Idaho, and Sylvan Wittwer of Hurricane were married on July 27, at the Logan Temple. Both have been attending the Utah State Agricultural college at Logan for the past few years. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Slack announce an-nounce the . marriage of their daughter, La Veil to Jesse Robb, of Paragonah, on July 9, at Kanab. i |
