Mrs. De Swan was appointed, without seeking on her part, to fill the unexpired term of her predecessor, Mrs. Elma Lund Woodbury, and has given evidence in this one year in office, of her capacity to dilligently, concisely, accurately and consistantly handle the duties of this important unit of county governmental affairs. This is the unreserved statement of those sponsoring her nomination for election. Born in St. George of substantial pioneer stock, Mrs. De Swan inherits in-herits a rich background, both in intellectual capacity and keen executive ability. Approached as to her desire for election, she stated quetly: "I regard this past year in the Recorder's office as the richest experience of my life. Certainly Cer-tainly I will appreciate the opportunity op-portunity of returning for a full term of office provided the taxpayers tax-payers by their vote experess confidence con-fidence in my ability." Asked what would be her outstanding out-standing thought if elected, with the prospect of the increased salary schedule, she replied: "I would still desire most to place service above the thought of compensation." com-pensation."
