Show timely action Anion is again being scheduled by residents of Spanish Spa-nish Valley to put into motion the necessary legal ma-chinary ma-chinary to bring about a culinary water system for that area. Despite the spread between homes and ranches in the Valley, it has a high potential for ultimate development develop-ment but that development is contingent upon the installation of an approved culinary water system. Presently, the .Mate Department ol Health has stated that shallow wells and septic tanks can no longer be tolerated in the area. Hence, local officials have stated that no more building permits will be issued for those developments not meeting the approval of the State. This action, which is not really -new, was .really inevitable. Now action is needed to correct the problem and clear the way for development. At a meeting called for Wed., April 7 at 8 p.m., the Grand County Zoning Board and the backers of a Spanish Valley Water Conservancy District, the whole project will be discussed again, and signatures will be sought to legally form such a district. The formation of such a district is an absolute necessity if meaningful progress pro-gress is to be made. Residents of Spanish Valley should plan to attend the meeting. It is important that a large representative group of property owners in Spanish Valley be present at that meeting. |
