Show loab City Cigsid! Says M f us System Purchase Tuesday Moab City Council met Tuesday evening and made a final decision again.st purchase of Utah Gas Service Ser-vice Company by the City. In voting which was tai. lied as four to one, the Councilmen felt that purchase pur-chase of the facility would not provide extra money for the city coffers, but could very likely prove to be an unfortunate invest ment which would not pay for itself. Most members of the Council stated that they felt there was some uncertainty uncer-tainty concerning the future fu-ture of the mining industry indus-try here and it was very likely that the City would be losing more and more connections as time goe3 on. and they did not wish to become involved in a contract which would require re-quire payments for 30 years when ' the company cou'd well be losing money by that time. In other business brought brou-ght before the Council., a discussion was held concerning con-cerning problems with dogs running loose within the City limits. The men decided de-cided on stricter enforcement enforce-ment of the existing ordinances ord-inances and they called for citations to be issued to persons who habitually allow al-low their anmals to run loose. A pek up charge of S5 will be charged as weli as board for animals which have been picked up. If dogs cannot be caught by the animal control officer, owners will be cited, according accor-ding to a Council report. |
