Show AGED LADY DIES FROM OLD AGUfllTIES Mrs. Mattie Crawford Died Monday Mon-day at Home of Daughter in St George Mrs. Mattie Crawford passed away from the infirmities of old age at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon after-noon at the home of her daughter, daugh-ter, WJrs. Bert Hardy, in St. George. She had been ailing since Thanksgiving and from that time her condiiton has grown steadily worse. Martha Risor Crawford was born January 26, 1849 in Autouga county, Alabama, a daughter of Wjm. Edward and Elizabeth Tem-pleten Tem-pleten Risor. She was married on November 8, 1869 to George M. Crawford of Prattville, Alabama, and in the fall of 1873 came with her husband and two children to Utah. They made their home at Washington and after the death of Mr. Crawford 24 years ago, she has made her home with her children, spending much time at the home of Mrs. Bert Hardy here while she worked in the temple. She was the mother of eight children, six of whom survive. They are: Arthur D. and George Edward Ed-ward of Enterprise, Joseph K. of Oakland, Mrs. Ellice Picklesimer of Richmond, Calif., and Mrs. Bert Hardy and Mrs. Lenard Carter of St. George. Thirty-four grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren also survive, together to-gether with Mrs. Adeline Glenn of Prattville, Ala., and Mrs. Florence Fitzgibbons of Columbus, Ga. Funeral services were held today to-day in Washington. |
