Complimentary to Miss Margaret Margar-et Haclley, a bride of this week, Mrs. G. G. Neill entertained at a nicely arranged shower at her home last Wednesday night. The entertaining rooms were beautifully beauti-fully decorated with the season's flowers and a splendid program was featured during the evening with vocal solos by Miss Helen Palfreyman and readings by Miss Dona Salisbury. Mrs. .Nellie Diamond will be hostess to members of the Kensington Ken-sington club of the Community church at her home next Tuesday Tues-day afternoon, the meeting having hav-ing been postponed from last Tuesday. Mr. Harold R. Wilson minister of the First Presbyterian church at Providence, R. I., for the past four years, formerly pastor pas-tor of the Springvillle Community church will preach at the morning service at 11 a. m. Sunday. There will also be baptism of infants. The Rev. Mr. Wilson will be married mar-ried to Miss Margaret Binns of American Fork at the Community Presbyterian church at 4 p. m. Saturday. Miss Binns is graduate of Westminster college, Salt Lake City and the B. Y. U., Provo. The past year she has attended the i Presbyterian College of Religious Education in Chicago. ! Mr. Wilson and his bride will leave Monday by auto for Provi- , dence, R. I., vhere they will make their home. MAPLETON Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Mendenhall entertained at dinner at their home Sunday for a number of relatives and friends. There were present Mrs. Grace Williams of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Nancy Alexander of Spanish Fork, Mrs. Loretta Schiess of Ocean Park, Calif; Mrs. Bert Simmons and children of Los Vegas, Nev. An 11 o'clock bridge breakfast and house warming was given by Mrs. Maurine Haymond at their new home on Second East First North street, Wednesday. Breakfast Break-fast was served at small tables each centered with lilies of the valley. Prizes for the bridge games were awarded to Mrs. Mabel Wright, club member and to Mrs. Helen Haymond of Provo, a guest. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Johnson and son Dick of Cedar City, spent Memorial day and Sunday with relatives and friends in Springville Spring-ville and Salt Lake City. Mrs. Cla-'ra Smith of Santa Barbara, Calif., formerly of this city visited relatives here on Memorial day. She is visiting a daughter, Mrs. Maude Holiday and family at Santaquin. Mrs. Jane Chase Edwards recently re-cently came from Los Angeles, Calif., to spend the summer here. She will visit Mrs. Lottie Lambson and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Elliott Bird and daughter of Salt Lake City spent Memorial day and Sunday with Mrs. Bird's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clark and other relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson and two daughters of Bingham were dinner guests Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bird. Mr. and Mrs. Donloe Kennedy of Salt Lake City were Springville Spring-ville visitors Saturday. On Sunday, Sun-day, accompanied by Mrs. G. D. I Kennedy and son Keith and daugh-j daugh-j ter Glenna, they visited in Salina. i cently, according to word received here. Mr. Nelson will receive his Master's degree from the university univer-sity at graduation exercises this week. Shortly after the co.uple will go to Trenton, New Jersey, where Mr. Nelson will be employed em-ployed as instructor in the New Jersey university. Before school begins next fall, they plan to visit a number of interesting places in the southern and eastern states. ' Miss Luell Straw entertained at a dinner at her home last Tuesday for fellow teachers of the Grant school and also complimentary to Miss Margaret Hadley, who will be married this week. Cbvers were laid for Miss Melba Sumsion, Miss Lucy Roylance, Miss Marie Rivers, the guest of honor and the hostess. Miss Hazel Anderson entertained entertain-ed members of the White Keys, B. Y. U. social unit, at her home Tuesday night. Plans for the coming year were discussed during dur-ing the evening. The. girls wrote in ea'ch others year books and general sociability was enjoyed together with a nicely arranged luncheon. The "keys" of the unit were turned over to the new officers of-ficers who are Huitau Allred, president; Alice Todd, vice president presi-dent and editor; Isabell Dillman, secretary; Maurine Murdock, historian; his-torian; Ella Greenwood, activity director. The retiring officers are Miss Anderson, Afton Hanson, Vernis Richards, Huitau Allred and Florence Todd. Other members mem-bers in attendance at the party were Phyllis Dixon, Gladys Man-waring, Man-waring, Maza Christensen, Ha Schow, Helen Young, Afton Judd, Lorna Wentz, Fern Christensen, Martha Coleman, Margaret Boyer and Wilma Jeppson, sponsor of the group. An enjoyable affair of last Thursday afternoon was the La-Conda La-Conda club party held at the home of Mrs. Dean Stewart. Bridge was the diversion, Mrs. Baxter Leyshon of Provo received the high score prize and Mrs. Fred Brown of Provo, the second favor. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess.
