Show PROPERTY IS DAMAGED BY HAIL STORM Considerable damage resulted from a terrific rain, hail and wind storm here, last Sunday. Reports indicated however that the storm centered in the south section of the city extending through a narrow nar-row strip east and west, as no considerable damage was reported report-ed elsewhere. A 3-year-old horse belonging to Arthur Hatfield was presumably presum-ably killed by lightning as it stood in a coral near the Hatfield Hat-field residence. At about the same time a gust of wind of almost cyclonic proportions, blew the roofs from two large chicken coops leased by Harry Lee in the vicinity of South Fourth East street. Electric power lines were broken brok-en in several places about town by large limbs blown from trees. In some sections young tomato plants were practically stripped of their leaves by the hail which also damaged strawberries and beat cherries and other larger fruit from the trees. |
