T. R. Bowden, presi- ; dent of the -Preston Chamber of I Commerce, gave a brief welcoming : address, and Henry H. Rawlings, ! chairman of the board ot county Tommfssioners, presided. An auto caravan of about 80 perrons per-rons made the inspection tour ot the Strawberry-Sharon road, and the Preston-Grace highway. Governor Gov-ernor Clark indicated that he would ': be in favor of the development of tile Preston-Grace highway, express- I ' ing surprise at the enormous ; .'mount of manganese available in the Cleveland area. He commented on the need for road improvements to facilitate removal of the ore for national defense purposes. On the matter of improvements on the Strawberry road, it was Ipointed out that this would be a connecting link between Bear Lake and Cache valleys as well as an additional highway link between eastern Idaho and western Wyoming.
