Show :Sat/Sun/MorVTues, September 18-21, 2004 A-13 The Park Record Adding fuel to the fire (district) The Park City Fire Service District has teamed up with Wells Fargo business banking and public finance on a $6.7 million-plus financing package. Phillip Meeks, business banker for Wells Fargo in Wasatch and Summit counties, made the announcement and presented Fire Chief Kelly Gee with a ceremonial check. The Fire District plans to use the funds to expand its operation over the next few years. About $5 million has been earmarked for the construction of five new fire stations and the renovation of existing facilities. The remainder of the loan has been allocated to the district's training facility, new administrative offices and additional firefighting equipment. Utah drivers hnvu seen some measure of stability return lo prices at their loeal gas sUiiions over the last four weeks. According lo a new report 'by AAA Utah, which tracks gas prices as a service to consumers. the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Utah has dropped a penny since Aumist. to$l.SS. 'llic national average juice for regular unleaded gasoline is $1.84. a two-cent decrease from lasl month. A vear aiio. the national average price was $1.69. lltahns were paying an average ni $).M1 at this time last year. Prices for unleaded regular, self-serve gasoline remained rather constant since August, with small decreases and increases in the surrounding slates. Idaho's average price remained al $l.%. Montana and Wyoming drivers saw decreases of one cent since the last AAA survey on August 17. The average price in Montana is $1.99. The average price in Wvominu is $1.85. ('olorado's motorists enjoyed a three-cent drop, for an average price of $1.<S6. 'Hie average price lumped five cents in both Arizona and Nevada. Nevada motorists now pay $2.05 per gallon. Arizona's average price is $1.93. California's avenme price remained the same at ^2.09. Prices generally dropped slightly in the Utah cities surveyed by AAA Utah this month. Prices dropped in Salt Lake City. Ogden, Provo, Vernal and Logan while increasiim in Moab and St. (ieorge. Salt Lake City motorists saw a decrease oi one cenl for an average price of regular unleaded self-serve gasoline of $1.81. Ogden, Vernal and Logan's price also dropped one cent. Ogden s average price is $1.84. Vernal's price is $1.95 and Logans price is $1.88. Provo's motorists enjoyed a two-cent decrease for an average price of $1.84. Si. George's average price increased two cents since the last AAA survey to $1.97.
