Fundraiser The South Summit High School cheerleaders will hold a fundraiser barbecue on Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Park City Wild Oats. The purpose is to raise money for Michelle Home, who broke her back in a cheerleading accident in July. f Kids' story time The Kimball Junction Summit County Library will hold a preschool story time on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 10:30 a.m. Call 615-3900 for more information. The address is 6505 North Landmark Dr. The Park City Library will hold a baby lap-sit story time, for newborns to 2 year olds, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. '22. Call 615-5603 for more information, The address is 1255 Park Ave. Kindergarten enrichment The Colby School will offer a six-week Kindergarten Enrichment Program beginning Oct. 4. Students will learn math, art, science, Spanish, music, literacy, physical education and cooking. The class size is limited to 12 students and there will be two teachers. Classes will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is S500. And she already knows what she'll do in college. She plans to study biology at Utah State UniversityUtah State and all other colleges in Utah came to Park City High School on Wednesday for "Senior College Day," to advertise themselves to prospective students. Students from the learning center and Winter Sports School joined Park City high students for the event. "I've basically made up my mind, this just reassured me," Kclsch said after listening to a speech on attending USU. Kelsch spent the summer in USU dorms with friends of hers at the school, and says. "I love the campus. It's just a really great town." Senior College Day is a good way for colleges to recruit those who aren't as sure as Kelsch from Park City's highachieving student body. In last year's graduating class. SO percent of students went on to college. For many Park City students, the matter of college is not "if" bul "when." "That when is almost now." said Dianne Leonard, University of Utah admissions counselor. Westminster College admissions counselor Kristen Ross bragged to a large group of students, "If you compare us to another institute in the state, you can't." Westminster is the only "Tier 1" college in Utah. It's also the priciest with an annual tuition of more than $18,000. "I'm not going to apologize for tuition. I don't want to do that." Ross told the students, adding that $6,000 to $14,000 in scholarship money was available from the school. Snow College admissions counselor Lisa Stringham touted her school's new performing arts building and small class sizes.
