Show mmmm Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues, September 18-21, 2004 A-7 The Park Record Housing Coalition to hold conference "Utah Housing Matters" is the theme of the eighth annual Utah Housing Coalition, which will be held at the Homestead Resort in Midway on Monday and Tuesday. Sept. 20 and 21. In this election year, the issue of housing affordahility is paramount as housing costs continue to rise while home ownership and adequate rental housing is out of reach for many Utahns across the state. Karen Hale, the Democratic nominee for Lt. Governor and Gary Herbert, the Republican nominee for Ll. Governor will each be addressing the conference on Sept. 21, beginning at 8:45 a.m. Both candidates will discuss their positions regarding affordable housing and community and economic development in Utah. This year, the keynote speaker will be Charles Buki, a consultant to the Millennial Housing Commission. He has held senior positions at the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation and The American Institute of Architects. He was a Loeb Fe 11 ow in Ad v a need Environmental Studies at Harvard University and a Mesa Fellow at the Common Counsel Foundation. Buki presently serves on the Board of Directors and/or Executive Committee of the International Sonoran Desert Alliance and on the Fannie Mae F o u n d a t i o n ' s Advisory Committee on Organizational Effectiveness. He will be giving the keynote address on Sept. 21 at ll:45<i.m. The Utah Housing Coalition is a diverse coalition of individuals and organizations committed to meeting the need for decent, safe and affordable 11011 s i n a. Members of the Coalition include lenders, nonprofit and for-profil developers, housing authorities, architects, advocacy groups as well as stale and local government agencies. Chris passed away doing what he loved most - riding his motorcycle. As a young man. Chris raced for his fathers Hurley Davidson dealership (Chris Draayer Harley Davidson, est. 1941) and eventually joined the Harley Davidson factory team (national number 77). Later, he look over the dealership from his father and ran il until 1984. In 1997. Chris was contacted by BMW Motorcycles to participate in the BMW '-'Battle of the Legends." where he was able to rejoin many of his peers back on the track.
