Show Grant Cecil "Cook" Liston ESCALANTE Grant Cecil "Cook" Liston, 84, of Escalantc, Utah, died March 12, 1994 in the South Valley Health Center in West Jordan, Utah. Mr. Liston was born April 14, 1909 in Escalantc to Rufus Hcnric and Ethel Valcra Robinson Liston. He married Norman Engar Oct. 15, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died July 28, 1964. Survivors include his children: Mark E. Liston, Escalantc; Marilyn L. Griffin, Torrance, Calif.; and Lee D. Liston, Magna, Utah; five grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Sprakc, Las Vegas, Ncv. and Winna Liston Spencer, Escalantc. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Mar. 15, 1994 in the Escalantc LDS Stake Center with Bishop Clem Griffin officiating. David Liston offered the family prayer prior to the opening of the service. Areola Gates performed both the prelude and postlude music, mu-sic, with Robert Liston rendering the the invocation. Speakers included Marilyn Griffin and Vernon Spencer, followed fol-lowed by a vocal duct, "Empty Saddles" sung by Gcraldinc Liston and Marlcnc Haws and accompanied accompa-nied by Susan Wilson. Ushur Spencer spoke, followed by remarks re-marks from Bishop Clem Griffin and the benediction by Doyle Cot-tam. Cot-tam. Pallbearers were Adam Griffin, Grant Cecil "Cook" Liston David G. Griffin, Issac Keller, Mark Liston, Lee Liston and Robert Liston. Compassionate service was rendered by the Escalantc 2nd Ward Relief Society Sisters. Interment was in the Escalantc Cemetery with military rites performed per-formed by members of the Escalantc American Legion Post. Vernon Spencer provided the dedication dedi-cation of the grave. All arrangement arrange-ment were under the direction of Ncal S. Maglcby & Sons, Mortuary, Richfield. |
