Idaho, who recently returned with her sister Mrs. Ada Fulimer, from a six weeks' visit in California, is now visiting friends and relatives here and in Mapleton. Mrs. Liza Thorn, who recently reutrned from a visit with her daughter, Cora, in CalLVrnia, spent the past week with her daughter and family, Dr. and Mrs. M. -D. P.ringhurst in Salt Lake. The marriage of Miss Lucy La Vanger of Springville and Willis R. Hill, son of .Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hill of Spanish Fork, took place in the Salt Lake temple Friday. Fri-day. April 25, according to announcement an-nouncement by the groom's parents. par-ents. The young couple will make their home in Spanish Fork. Members of the N. I. Dr. and Mrs. Nephi Packard of Ogden, former Springville residents, resi-dents, were among the visitors to the art gallery, on Sunday of the past week. Probably the biggest social event of the high school during last week was the honorary banquet given under the direction of the domestic science department, Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, for all students who received awards for special school activity at the "S" day program pro-gram held that morning. The banquet ban-quet concluded a most successful day's entertainment with the program, pro-gram, interclass track meet and banquet being the outstanding features. fea-tures. Howard Law, student body president and track captain, was master of ceremonies, and Ted Anthon toastmaster. During the banquet a program was given and La Mar Weight was appointed basketball bas-ketball captain and Reed Averett football captain for lhe coming , season. Some forty students were in attendance. Mrs. Florence Cluff, Mrs. Alice Wilson, formerly Alice Cluff of this city, and sister Mrs. Esther Leard of Los Angeles, have returned re-turned to their homo after spending spend-ing several weeks with friends and relatives here and in Provo and i Salt Lake. A most successful entertainment was given Friday evening in the j Second ward by the members of the genealogical department with i Chairman Mrs. Margaret Miner in charge. The program consisted of stunts by various families of the j wards, music and readings. Light , refreshments were sold in conclu-i conclu-i sion. Several missionaries have been called from Springville to work in the various fields of the L. D. S. 1 church. Among them arc Grant . Thorn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ace J Thorn, who will go to the Eastern states; Miss Alberta Mendenhall, j daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. |
