Show 2,000 Will Attend Big H. S. Event! I t a h County High School Day To lie Held in Provo ; Friday, May 2. j More than 2,000 high school students of Utah county will gather in Provo, Friday, May 2, to participate in the varied Activities of the annual coun-:y coun-:y high school day. Another 2,000 people, parents, par-ents, school patrons and teachers are expected to be present to witness the activities of ihe da' which will center around the Brigham Brig-ham Young university athleti? stadium. Although the event has become a traditional one since its inauguration inaugura-tion more thn 25 years ago, many nnovations will be introduced this year in the program. Outdoor Demonstration The usual forenoon meeting, consisting con-sisting of readings, speeches and musical p umbers lias been eliminated elim-inated and an outdoor program of mass demonstrations in games and physical education drills for boys md girls, substituted. One of the features of the day will be the appearance of an ensemble en-semble brnd. consisting nf nm.e than 400 high school musicians High school bands from Lehi American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Lincoln, Provo. Springville, Spanish Span-ish Fork, and Payson will unite in this novel feature. The mammoth band, easily the largest ever' seen here will torn' at Pioneer park at 9:30 on the morning ot May 2. Promptly at 10 o'clock the ensemble band, more than a block long will march up Center street playing several selections selec-tions as they pass through the business busi-ness district on the way to the "Y" stadium, the scene of the day's activities. The forenoon activities at tho stadium fall into three divisions, a band concert by the ensemble organization or-ganization ; boys' vents and girte' exhibition. Cage Hall-Demonstrations Hall-Demonstrations in volley ball, chariot, three-legged and wheelbarrow wheelbar-row races will be staged by 24u boys. 30 from each of the eight participating par-ticipating high schools. At the conclusion con-clusion of the boys' event the contestants con-testants will be divided into two groups of 120 each for a cage ball contest. The feature of the girls' demonstration demon-stration is the maypole braidiny dance. Each high school will be assigned as-signed to a place on the field in front of the stadium scats. A larger pole will be placed in the center with girls from each high schooi participating. Other types of dances will be demonstrated by the girls before the maypole event which is the climax of the whole affair. The ensemble band which will furnish music for the dances will stage a concert on the field as pan of the program. At the conclusion of the morning events at 12:30 sandwiches ami other refreshments will be served under the direction of the Provo schools. The afternoon program is the annual an-nual regional track and field meet to be held under the auspices of the regional committee beginning at 2 o'clock. In addition to the athletes ath-letes from the eight high schools of Utah county, Nephi and Eureka students will also enter this meet in order to qualify for the final slate meot in Salt Lake.
