Two Green Sheet writers were among Utah Press Women members receiving honors during the associations annual awards dinner here last week. Eligible were women media writers from throughout the state whose work was published in 1982. Accorded first place in the feature category was LaRee Pehrson, the Green Sheets Magna reporter. Her feature dealt with veterans of World War I. She also gained second place recognition for historical articles on the Copper club at Magna and the LeCheminant family. Three first places went to Ethel Bradford, Whats Happening editor of the Green Sheet. One was for her Out Our Window; column, another for editing the Whats Happening pages. She also gained top honors for editing three special sections during the year, including a bridal issue, the Green Sheet Cooking School and preparation for the holidays. First place entries are entered in national competition, with winners to be announced during a conference to be held at Vail, Colo, in June. Enrollment Of Women Increases A gradual TAYLORSVILLE. change in the number of women attending classes at Utah Technical College has been detected, according to spring quarter enrollment figures. Women account for nearly 39 percent of the student body, according to Judd Morgan, dean of students. Ten years ago the figure was 35 percent, he said. Other statistics show that the average age of students at the college is nearly 27.8 years, considerably higher than that of most other two-yecolleges in the state. About 88 percent of students live in Salt Lake County, with five percent coming from Davis County, two percent from Tooele and one percent from Utah County.
