Show BONDS THE PHI CAPPA GROUP after looking for bonanzas throughout many of the camps in this intermountain country george Z edwards the well known mining man has returned home from custer county idaho enthusiastic over the mineral resources of that section of the west and satisfied in the belief that he has at last secured a mining proposition that will develop into a great wealth producer mr edwards has been absent from this city about two weeks during which he examined several mining properties none of which impressed him more favorably than the phi cappa mine in alto district custer county which he succeeded in securing on a bond and lease and at figures eminently satisfactory is to himself and associates alto district in custer county idaho is located about 40 miles due north of mackay the great copper camp of our sister state and is easily accessible access able the phi cappa group of six claims on which mr edwards has a bond is admirably located as regards easy development as it is essentially a tun nelling proposition the ledge which is of mammoth proportions and productive of a good quality of silver lead ore associated with encouraging copper values has been sunk upon to a depth of only 86 feet but these comparatively shallow workings have blocked out such a splendid showing of pay ore that mr edwards is thoroughly convinced that with sufficient development the property will turn out to be a bonanza there is water and timber in abundance on the ground and in its immediate vicinity the stream of water a beautiful rivulet being capable of developing horsepower mr edwards informs the mining review that it is quite probable that the westinghouse in company will build an electric railway line from mackay to alto district and this can easily be done as the grade tor for the entire distance will not exceed I 1 per cent per mile from mackay to the mine this enterprise hasi haa been in contemplation for some time and the westinghouse people are only waiting for more encouragement from the miners in the way of mine develop development men t and an increased tonnage but mr edwards says ehg t h e ore is there and ir in abunda abundance |
