Show THE SOUTH LINCOLN MINE captain J H stallings of salt lake la who recently organized the south lincoln mining company the basis of the incorporation being a group of claims on the south extension of the lincoln mine at peirl pearl idaho has completed the equipment of this por perty and it is his intention to go to the deep with the expectation of cutting the great lincoln mine ore body with his new shaft shaf t several weeks ago the captain was io in this hs city on his v way fay east bast cakl taking PF in haq t worlds fair and the democratic convention before returning during his absence however he be mingled business with pleasure and ordered the machinery for the new hoist with which his mine is now so well equipped these new works have a sinking capacity of 1500 feet and the boiler and hoists are of horsepower each the property of the south lincoln company is so located that it covers the extension of the cross ledge developed in the lincoln mine and the captain is confident that when this is reached in his own workings he will have a bonanza on his hands the shaft will be triple compartment and will be located within feet of the new shaft soon to be started by the lincoln company the big cross ledge in the lincoln mine above alluded to is on the east drift on the foot level in developing this ore body the lincoln management is putting in square sets and seven sets are required the sets are five feet in width which would make this monster ore body all of thirty five feet wide which is possibly one of the largest bodies of gold ore ever uncovered in any mine in the west the ore is all of excellent quality and some of it is of high grade some of which is being marketed in the crude bringing most satisfactory returns captain stallings was superintendent of the lincoln from the day that it passed into the hands of the lincoln company up to a few months ago when he resigned for the purpose of promoting the south lincoln and he is thoroughly acquainted with every foot of ground in the mine it was his familiarity with the formation and general geological conditions that led hirr hiir an fn n take up the south lincoln with ne is so well pleased that he told a representative of the mining review that in his opinion it would make a better mine than the lincoln great as is this bonanza the captains many salt lake friends will be pleased to know that he is in possession of such a valuable and promising property |
